Shaykh Ullaysh said to me:
“O Salih! Allah (most high) is very jealous about knowledge of the unseen.
Beware of ever speaking about the unseen, for [knowledge of it] is an attribute from among His attributes.
Even if a human being is shown something, he must hide this and not show it.
This is because knowledge of the unseen is from the attributes of Allah most high, and you must not share in the attributes of Allah most high.”
– Shaykh Salih al-Ja’fari (may Allah be pleased with him).
Shaykh Muhammad Ullaysh al-Maliki (d. 1882) was one of the greatest masters of Islamic scholarship. When Shaykh Salih al-Ja’fari came to Egypt to study in the Azhar, Shaykh Ullaysh had already been dead for more than fifty years, but Shaykh Salih saw him in a dream vision welcoming him to Egypt and giving him advice that would lead him to great spiritual openings. That is why Shaykh Salih al-Ja’fari loved him very much and felt a strong spiritual connection to him.
